Even after disabling all plugins and my theme the error persisted. Stranger than that, it effected several sites, not just one. I even scrapped on e website and reinstalled a fresh WP. Worked for a day, then broken again. I reverted all my sites to WP 3.8.2. Worked for a day, then broken. * Looked at the browser error console and found them light up with errors. There is one of these: * -Uncaught SyntaxEror: Unexpected token * * Then a bunch of these: * -Uncaught ReferenceError: jQuery is not defined * Any thoughts would be appreciated and rewarded with ego-boosting praise. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s). * – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems. * – [resetting the plugins folder](http://codex.wordpress.org/FAQ_Troubleshooting#How_to_deactivate_all_plugins_when_not_able_to_access_the_administrative_menus.3F) by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems. * – re-uploading all files & folders – **except** the wp-content folder and wp- config.php & root .htaccess files – from a **fresh** download of WordPress. Were you aware that your site is currently running a very real risk of being hacked? It’s specific to your site. The first 39 lines of that file don’t match my copy of the file and should not be there. They look like a malicious hack of some kind. I would start by scanning your own PC, changing your cpanel, FTP and other passwords, and doing a clean install of WordPress.
