[Resolved] WordPress Admin Dashboard not loading

  • I hope someone can help me with this.

    I have been using WordPress for my website for a couple of years now. Recently (about 2 months ago) when I logged into the Admin for my website, the dashboard came up completely without the usual formatting so I updated to the most recent version of WordPress and it seemed to have resolved the problem. I logged in last week and the same issue is happening again.

    The website looks fine – it’s just the Admin side that is wonky so I am unable to update my website, which is what I am wanting to do.

    Nothing changes over different internet browsers nor computers. I have cleaned out my cache and this hasn’t helped either. I have browsed through the forums and have deactivated all my plugins and nothing has changed. I contacted both my provider and the website template designers and both of them say that they are not the cause of the issue.

    When I login to the Admin, the following components continue to say they are “loading”: Incoming Links, Plugins, Quickpress, WordPress Blog, and WordPress News.

    Does anyone have any suggestions?

    Have you tried:

    – switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

    resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    – re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder – from a fresh download of WordPress. Make sure that you delete the old copies of files & folder before uploading the new ones.

    I have not tried these – thank you. I am, however, a little apprehensive about switching to the Twenty Eleven theme. My website is currently working and I’m a little weary that it won’t come back properly if I carry out this switch. I have contacted the company who made the theme and they have said it isn’t the theme creating the problem. I will try it though if you don’t think this will be a problem.

    As far as resetting the plugins by FTP – could you please give me a little more description of how to do this? I definitely don’t have a problem getting to the ftp site, but I’m just not sure how I go about resetting the plugin folder this way

    And – I can certainly re-upload all files and folders.

    If you could help me with the first two points, I’ll get right on it! Thank you so much for your time!

    Emptied my cache and restarted my computer and it seems to be working!!! I can’t thank you enough for your help!
