    Hi People,

Im having a little trouble with one thing! I need to UNSET the link (href) that is allowing my users to click on the TITLE of a pending post whcih then takes them to the editing page.....Can anyone tell me how to unset this link so its just text...!

I have managed to block every other way apart from this.

Cheers in advance if ya can help, would be very much appreciated.

Only editors or authors of that particular post should be able to edit pending posts. You could check out User Role Editor and remove everyone's ability to edit_posts except for Admins too I suppose.

    Hi Andrew,

Thanks for the reply! a quick reply to!

Im actually already using that plugin, the thing is i dont want the authore to be able to access the editing page of a pending post, well any post! BUT for what i am doing i still need them to be able to view the post SO when they click "view post" they can still see them!

With that plugin if i take away edit_post priv it wont even let them view the post....

SO what i need to do is unlink that text n im sorted!

I'm confused, what exactly do you want authors to be able to do? If you don't want them to be able to do anything but submit an article for review shouldn't stripping publish_posts and edit_posts from them achieve that?

    Hi Andrew,

They can publish post from the front end of the site by completing a form and submitting which comes for review!

When they login as the user all i want then to be able to do is look at the page "view all post" so they can see theres (which is pendin) and everyone elses..i dont want them to be able to edit the post nor click anything else which would take them to the editing page...

When im using the plugin if i remove the edit_post privilege it removes the right to even view the "view all post".

Does this make a little more sense?, i know im confusing myself some times!

    Cheers again

Yea you're right, just installed it on a test site. If I get some free time over the weekend I'll take a look at what filters you could use to modify the edit_posts capability.

    Hi Carl,

Sorry I wasn't able to spend a ton of time with it. We just got hit with another big project. You'll want to sort through the filter reference. But you are talking about a pretty decent core extension here. If you don't feel up to extending core code, you can always hire someone. Best of luck!
