Alright so I moved everything to the new host.
I backed up everything and imported everything correctly.
However when I go to the admin panel
it always automatically links to the ‘old’ url.

The odd thing is, I’ve even ‘changed’ the WordPress address (URI) in the database to the correct URL. I’ve refreshed my cache, restarted, and I’ve even changed the URL with the old host first and imported that databse, but it just keep showing the old URL.

    Old url was http://www.animeofficial.com/tech

    new url is http://www.widgx.com

What could the problem be? I am absolutely stuck as I don’t know why it seems the blog is acting stubborn.

  • Huh. Do you still have any mod_rewrite rules/redirects active on either host? In a pre-existing .htaccess you’re copying over maybe?

the old host is still active for a couple of weeks and I’ve not deleted anything.

I’ve not copied the htacesss file either.

Okay…. is your DNS resolving to your new host?

    yes indeed.
    http://www.widgx.com is active.

The main page is working, it’s the control panel that seems to link to the old domain.

Well…. hmmm. Can you use phpmyadmin on your new host to look at the database?

I did look at it and the WordPress address (URI) in the options table is fine.

This is why I’m very strange. If you are well versed when it comes to these problems I could always give you access so you can look for yourself.

Alright so I’ve sorted out ONE of the blogs by ‘enabling referrers’
I tried the exact same thing with widgx.com
but it’s STILL asking me to enable referrers.
I don’t understand why one blog is fine, the other isn’t.

I’ve even tried Opera instead of IE7 and it does not work.

I’ve sorted it by upgrading to the latest version of wordpress. The issue seems to be isolated to 2.0.3
