WordPress Add Page & Permalinks Pages Chewing up CPU

  • I have the newest version of WP running on my site. I have about 100 Pages and 0 Posts. When I attempt to add new pages the CPU usage on my server is chewed up to 100% by processes. If I attempt to access the PermaLinks page in the administration panel my server basically freezes.

I am on a Dedicated VPS server with a 2.0GHz CPU assigned to the site and 1GB RAM. Please let me know if there is any way for me to fix this problem, aside from reinstalling the system. I would like to utilize the software as best I can, but if WordPress is not the software I need to run my site I will have to change. I just like the software and it’s ease of use.
