WordPress 6.8 seems to have broken thumbnail hover

Somewhere between WordPress 6.5 and 6.81 something happened to the thumbnail pages in my photo album. When I hover over a thumbnail it zooms to a bigger view with more text. I noticed that after WordPress updated to the latest version 6.81 that some of the thumbnails don’t zoom on hover. Some do, some don’t, I really don’t see a pattern. The problem doesn’t happen with WordPress 6.5. Very strange…

Hmmm…The only quotes in the description are (“) not (‘). I tried removing the quotes on the image you reference entirely, both in the short and expanded descriptions, then emptying all caches including the browser cache and for some reason the hover still doesn’t work. I must be missing something but this is a minor problem so I’ll just wait to see what you can do about it.
(edit) OK, I see now. the “single quote” that breaks it is in the word “didn’t” – I hadn’t thought of the contraction when looking for the “single quote.” Changing “didn’t” to “did not” makes it work. That’s a *very* weird problem!
