 * Hello, this isn’t a support request but I wasn’t sure where to note this.
 * people who are self hosting or using shared hosting of any sort with cpGuard
   will have issues.
 * it’s been confirmed at the moment that cpGuard is classifying the following file
   as a virus
 * ”public_html/wp-includes/html-api/html5-named-character-references.php”
 * cpGuard have been made aware of this and an update should be issued in due course.
   Mean while if you want to use 6.6, edit the wp-settings file and comment out
   the required file, or better yet downgrade to 6.5.

 * I can confirm all our hosting servers that use cPGuard flag the file “html5-named-
   character-references.php” as malware on WordPress 6.6. This breaks the whole
   site and error 500.
   Since this file is auto generated, is there any way we can
   confirm this file is not malware?Can we confirm that this is a cPGuard “false
   positive”BR

 * It’s a false positive. Here is the file: [https://core.trac.wordpress.org/browser/tags/6.6/src/wp-includes/html-api/html5-named-character-references.php](https://core.trac.wordpress.org/browser/tags/6.6/src/wp-includes/html-api/html5-named-character-references.php)

 * I’ve seen cPGuard break a client’s site multiple times over the last 2.5 years
   because of false positives like this. You can mark the issue as a false positive,
   so that might help to get it whitelisted.
