    As described here, we are working on a solution to make the Fixed Widget option appear in the new widget screen.

    While you can use the Classic Widgets plugin to go back to the old view, you can also keep the new widget editor and enter the IDs of the blocks you want to fix into the Custom IDs option under Appearances > Fixed Widget Options.

    The solution you mention using the block id does not work for me on any of my WordPress 5.8 sites.

    Hi @rafax, thanks for your feedback.

    We are almost finished with the rewrite for the block editor. Just some minor polishing left. I am happy to send you an early copy next week, if you’d like to help me testing.

    The block id does not work. Classic Widgets plugin is good.
