# WordPress 5.8 compatibility

 * I just updated the plugin, and the changelog says you added a notice for WP 5.8.
   But I don’t see any notice now. Are there any steps that we should take prior
   to updating WP from 5.7 to 5.8, to assure the continued functionality of the 
   widgets/sidebars? Will this plugin require the Classic Widgets plugin or will
   it be able to stand alone?
 * Thanks for a great plugin…two sites have been running it for 8 years and I’ve
   never had an issue.

 * If you’re running WP 5.8 or greater and don’t have Classic Widgets activated 
   then you’ll see a notice. Otherwise, it’s not shown. Custom Sidebars only work
   with classic widgets interface enabled.

 * Thank you for the reply, and for the confirmation that Classic Widgets is required.
   I’d already gone ahead and installed Classic Widgets on the two sites using your
   plugin, to be on the safe side. Thanks again for taking the time.

 * Does this mean we will always need the Classic Widgets plugin activated? Is Custom
   Sidebars modified in the future to make it work with the new WP version?
