 * Let’s assume the site was working with 5.8.1 and something in the 5.8.2 update
   failed. In that case, do a manual update. Really, only step 1 is necessary: [https://wordpress.org/support/article/updating-wordpress/#step-1-replace-wordpress-files](https://wordpress.org/support/article/updating-wordpress/#step-1-replace-wordpress-files)

 * I had a similar issue which I have resolved. Transpires somehow after the 5.8.2.
   update, my user profile was changed from “administrator” to “no role”. This prevented
   me from accessing the dashboard like I normally would.
 * As for fixing it, I remembered I have 2 administrator accounts so I thought I’d
   try the second one to see if it was blocked also. Turned out it wasn’t so I managed
   to access the dashboard that way and then restore my administrator privileges
   to my user profile. Perhaps the same has happened to you?
 * Hope this helps!

 * Thanks [@joannereakes](https://wordpress.org/support/users/joannereakes/) for
   your sharing
 * I contacted support from hosting.
    My IP was blacklisted in the server for multiple
   failed Imunify360 cPanel validations. Imunify360 is a security product developed
   by CloudLinux. It currently provides the following security enhancements. They
   removed the block and got access again.
