WordPress has published 5.4.2. It should be available to you. I’m not exactly sure what GCP has to do with it. If there’s some one-click installer or they’re controlling availability of updates, you need to get back in touch with them.
The only official WordPress image in the GCP Marketplace is the Bitnami image (certified by Automattic).
I would suggest installing one of the Bitnami images (Nginx. Apache, Multisite, or Multi-tier) depending on your needs and just updating WordPress from within your WordPress dashboard.
Bitnami should update the image soon. Hope this helps 🙂

Thanks for the response.
Actually, in GCP marketplace I can see multiple WordPress Installers with Click to Deploy option. They comes in a bundle including php, apache and MySQL. I have used those installers previously so I am looking for the latest version i.e. 5.4.2 in GCP Marketplace.
Yes, there are numerous stacks available on the marketplace, all created by different companies.
WordPress 5.4.2 was just released 2 days ago so it will take time for companies to update the GCP Marketplace which WordPress has no control over. That is why I suggested using a current deployment stack and then updating WordPress from the admin dashboard. As soon as you login it will let you know there is an update available and ask if you want to install it. Otherwise you will need to wait for 5.4.2 to become available on GCP Marketplace.
