• When updating from WordPress 4.7.10 to WordPress 5.0.3 from the ‘updates’ page within my site I am getting the error:

Warning: call_user_func_array() expects parameter 1 to be a valid callback, function ‘new_user_email_admin_notice’ not found or invalid function name in /websites/123reg/LinuxPackage23/sc/ho/ol/*************.co.uk/public_html/wp-includes/class-wp-hook.php on line 298

The host is 123-reg. I’m on PHP version 5.6
We’re able to read the class-wp-hook.php file and paste the code here if needed but the lines aren’t numbered.
Has anyone seen anything like this? And what can I do to complete this update successfully?

  • Hi.,

Try downloading WordPress again, access your server via SFTP or FTP, or a file manager in your hosting account’s control panel, and delete then replace your copies of everything except the wp-config.php file and the /wp-content/ directory with fresh copies from the download. This will effectively replace all of your core files without damaging your content and settings.
Some uploaders tend to be unreliable when overwriting files, so don’t forget to delete the original files before replacing them.

    Thanks
