WordPress 4.4 update disabled site – Fatal error: Cannot redeclare get_the_autho

Hi there,

I am hoping someone might be able to tell me a simple fix tot his issue – I decided this afternoon to hit the update button I was prompted with for the new WordPress 4.4 version. However since the update my site along with the admin panel have both been inaccessible with the error below being returned. If anyone has any ideas and could help me out it’d be greatly appreciated!
