WordPress 4.4 – Missing volume slider

The latest version of WordPress (v4.4) suffers from this issue where the volume slider in the default media player suddenly gets missing immediately after the audio file is started in the player. Here’s an example: http://aeronet.cz/news/u-radia-po-setmeni-jako-za-valky-dnes-vecer-na-svcs/

If you start the audio file in the player, the volume slider will disappear. This is really annoying as people can’t adjust the volume at all until the entire page is reloaded in the browser.

This bug is related to the default wordpress HTML5 media player which is a part of the WP core. We have tried to change various themes on our website but the issue is always there. A downgrade back to WP 4.3.1 fixes this issue but we wanted to use the latest WP 4.4 build, so we had rather switched to a 3rd-party HTML5 media player which is not affected by this bug. So, my previous URL link doesn’t show the mentioned bugged default HTML5 player anymore.

But the issue can still be observed on a different website, for instance here: http://www.svobodny-vysilac.cz/wordpress/?p=5309

If you press the play button in the generic wordpress HTML5 player, its volume slider will disappear. This bug has been introduced in WP 4.4 but older versions of WordPress have no issues of this kind.
