    WordPress 4.4 function get_the_post_thumbnail_url() found in theme file functions.php conflicts with a core function now found in:

    Conflicting function name: get_the_post_thumbnail_url()
    WordPress core file: ./wp-includes/post-thumbnail-template.php
    Your theme file: ./wp-content/themes/sliding-door/functions.php

    I simply renamed it and upgraded the site to WordPress 4.4

    While awaiting a fix from the theme author, simply changing the name of the function to get_the_post_thumbnail_url1() and changing the two references as follows

    3 changes to sliding-door/functions.php :

    function name: line 211
    function call: line 246
    function call: line 270

    choose a non-conflicting function name, like sliding_theme_get_the_post_thumbnail_url()

    as well

    Hello. I have been using the Sliding Door theme for several years now and just recently changed hosting companies. Today they did an automatic upgrade of WordPress to 4.4 and now I do not have a website. I cannot login. I am not very good with coding so if you have any detailed fix instruction I would greatly appreciate it.

    For people who do not use ftp (they have downloaded the theme from within the wordpress admin) is there a way to fix this without having to ftp the new theme in?

    I believe the theme may have been temporarily suspended due to the reported incompatibility, but I’m not 100% sure, not exactly my department. ๐Ÿ™‚

    I believe if you release an updated/fixed version, that will resolve it.

    Hi Wayne
    Thanks for issuing the fix so quickly. Having upgraded to WP4.4 I was unable to get into wp-admin so the ftp (or whichever file utility your hosting service provides) was the only option. I only needed to replace functions.php to get wp-admin going again. I had made some changes to the edit the theme (because i couldn’t get cascading style sheets to work) so i didn’t want to upgrade from v3.0.8 i’m on

    The ‘official support forum’ is blocked by our Sophos UTM.

    “The URL you have requested is blocked by Surf Protection. If you think this is wrong, please contact your administrator.”

    Quite honestly – I am the administrator, but I don’t just unblock sites that are blocked by the firewall appliance – as I assume it was put on there for some valid reason (even if the matter is now resolved).

    I would suggest you look at why the forum is blocked by Sophos UTMs and their web filtering protection.
