Same here…getting an error Failed to load resource: net::ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE on /wp-admin/admin-ajax.php
Same here. Updating plugins worked like a charm on 4.1.2, but on 4.2 the process is stuck on “updating…” and the rotating arrows.
Same here on several sites on different themes!
Same here. And it’s especially nasty where plugin authors want to fix a bug or two with WP 4.2.
I might be a host / server related problem. My plugin update on another server went well (4.2).
On the first server (with the “stuck on updating problem”) i’m asked for my ftp credetials on every update action. When I enter them (correctly!), I’m stuck on “updating…”
On the other server (which has my ftp credentials stored), updating of plugins works as expected.
The FTP credentials are stored on my server too. My provider says it’s a wordpress problem.
BTW: the update process is the only process that’s not working. I deleted a plugin via the Worpdress backend without any problem.
That’s right. When I store FTP credentials in wp-config.php, the updating is done smoothly. But I don’t want to save these in wp-config.php, or do I? How about security issues?
Same problem here but even with stored FTP credentials update aren’t working.
same here as well. Just “updating…” and no progress at all. Is there a solution for this?
What works: delete plugin, re-install the latest version. Seems to be a problem with the new update process.
Thanks for the answer nicorola, but that is unacceptable
Storing ftp credentials in wp-config did not solve my problem. Deleting and reinstalling latest version is not an acceptable solution (but might be a quick fix if you are in need)…. Hoping for a working solution!
I’ll add my name to the list. Can’t update plugins with 4.2
…./wp-admin/update-core.php
…./wp-admin/plugins.php
neither method works. 2 different plugins have save problem.
I upgraded to to WP 4.2 and now I can’t edit, work on templates, or upload images to the media library. It shows broken image lcons 🙁
