WordPress 4.7 and MainWP Child

    Hey, I have seen a lot of posts where people can’t log in after updating to WordPress 4.7

    I had the same issue on a number Multi-Site installs. After some digging, I found the issue was not actually with WordPress, but with an update in the MainWP child plugin.

    If anyone who can’t log in to multisite, and uses MainWP (or maybe they have outsourced the management of their site to someone who uses MainWP), you need to either revert to a previous version of the plugin or delete it in order to access the admin again.

    I am sending a message to the developers of MainWP to let them know of this issue, hopefully there will be an update in the near future.

    Yep, i opened a ticket straight after I posted here.. I just wanted to let people here know of the issue because so many were having issues logging in after updating to 4.7, and if any were using MainWP they might see my post and resolve their logging in issue.

    Stapolin, it is not something I can duplicate on our test sites of standard WP installs both WordPress 4.7 and MainWP Child 3.2.3 are playing well together.

    As far as multi-site installs we’ll be happy to take a look at it for you but note on the installation tab “Note: MainWP is not tested on or designed for multisite installs, we have reports that most functions work correctly but support will be limited. We DO NOT recommend installing the MainWP Dashboard plugin on a Multi-site install.”

    If you send in a support ticket at https://mainwp.com/presale-query/ one of our support people will be happy to take a look and see if they can find the issue with your multi-site installs.
