WordPress 3.5.2: Can't edit pages "Visual"

  • Just (unsuccessfully?) upgraded to WordPress 3.5.2 and it took away my ability to edit pages “Visual” style.
    I’m using the Ping theme.

What do I need to install or plug-in to re-establish this?

I was previously using 3.5.1 and everything was fine.

Try deactivating ALL plugins and switching to the default twentytwelve theme as first troubleshooting steps.

Also be sure you’ve cleared any browser cache and cookies and any caching on your site.

Nothing doing as far as clearing the cache and cookies.

If I deactivated all plug-ins and changed the theme, wouldn’t that clear all formatting and put me back at square one with a basic website?

NO – it’s a standard temporary troubleshooting step – your theme/site settings are saved. Your site WILL look different while they are changed, but there is no other way to solve a problem like this.

You also need to update WP to 3.6 ASAP – 3.5.2 is no longer the current version.
