WordPress 3.5 and YouTube embeds (4 posts)

I just updated to 3.5 and noticed that YouTube embeds seem to be busted. The embeds that I had created with just the URL on the page have now all shown up huge and there are no settings under media anymore to specify size.

Any insight on this one? Did the embed controls get moved? If so, where? I checked all through the admin panel and didn't see anything new.

  2. Embeds now read the theme's CSS width for sizing, unless you add a size. See http://codex.wordpress.org/Embeds

    See new 3.5 changes/settings: http://codex.wordpress.org/Version_3.5#Settings

Remove oEmbed options from the Settings Media Screen. Width adheres to theme's content width, height is 1.5 times width.

So by width for sizing what is it hooking onto? My container width is only 600px, but it's displaying videos at 940 wide. My total site width is 960, so is it grabbing that? The link you mentioned didn't seem to have any details on the CSS aspect of the embed.

  4. Try a width in an embed, like [embed width="123" height="456"] url here[/embed]

What theme are you using? Switch to twentytwelve for a minute and see what the embeds look like.
