 * Hello! I’ve been around WordPress.org since December 2010 (yeah, but I’ve known
   about WordPress.org since it was probably first released). I started with 3.0.3
   and automatically installed to WordPress 3.0.4. Quickly, 3.0.5 was released! 
   I was so excited! As I do not understand how to install it manually, of course
   I did install automatically! It would take _forever_ to load. It eventually loaded.
   A blank screen! It showed all of it, but in the middle where the actual text 
   is…. nothing! Then it says under maintenance. When it returns, it says it fails.
   This has been happening ever since 3.0.5 has been released! My friend had the
   same issue with his installing 3.0.4 but he got it on in a day or two! This has
   been taking longer than that! Please help!

 * The .maintenance file is supposed to self-delete when you’re done upgrading. 
   Check if it did get deleted, and delete (or rename) the file .maintenance located
   on your blog root dir.
