WordPress 3.0 question…

    I am currently in the process of migrating several blogs from stand alone WP installations to a WPMU installation. I have read that 3.0 is going to integrate WPMU into the WP core so my question is…

    Will it be easier to finish moving all my sites over to WPMU then upgrade to 3.0 when the time comes or will it be easier to wait and stay on the stand alone installs and upgrade after 3.0?

    I know there’s probably no definitive answer to this but I’m interested to hear peoples thoughts on this. Thanks!

    Could be wrong but I don’t think I’ve read anything about being able to ‘merge’ multiple sites into one WPMU install. And if that is true, I’d say the level of effort would be the same, either now or then.

    The codebases are merging, yes. Nothing going in so far to help with merging multiple installs into one.

    So – you can do the work now or do it later. Either way, same amount of work involved.

    I’d do it now, since you already started.

    (And I’ll add this last bit because people have asked time to time – mu does not magically find existing installs. No, not even if they are on the same server.)
