• I’m using WordPress 3.0-RC2 and I have set-up multi-sites using multi-domains, everything works. But the new sites I have added, when I go to the admin is not working right.

For Example, if I go to domain.com/wp-admin and log-in and press submit, it just redirects back to the same page. Doesn’t give any errors or nothing.

Anyone have any ideas on what’s happening?

I managed to fix it using this plugin: WordPress MU Domain Mapping. Everything works fine now.

Thanks for the heads up. I have th plugin installed along with sunrise.php. Now when I try to add a domain to tools->domain mapping it is telling me the sites are already added and I can’t configure this part.

    Any advice?

Yes, I had this problem also! What I had to do was manually go into the database, (I used phpmyadmin).

    1. Go to your wordpress database.
    2. Find wp_domain_mapping table.
    3. Browse wp_domain_mapping table, and it will show the sites there, you need to remove these records.
    4. Go back to the Domain mapping plugins and now your be able to add the site and everything should work.

Thats what I did to get mine to work, remember to backup your database first just in case you mess up!

    Roy,

I was really hoping that worked and thought just by reading that I would find the entries in this table, but my wp_domain_mapping table contains no records. It is empty… hmmmm…

Thank you for sharing. I hope I can get this working soon. I’m off to the world beard championships here in Bend. Will try to move forward later tonight.

    thanks!

roy-duff same problem here registering a new site works fine, but then the admin doesn’t work as pages unfound.

The wordpree MU plugin is not what I’m looking for as I just want sub-directories for the blogs. Did you get any where since 3.0 was released? help would be much appreciared.

    thanks!

@ezwerge – if you just wanted subdirectories for the blogs, that’s built in.

Thanks Andrea, the new sites are visible, but no admin functions, e.g. new post, new page.

Error is: newsubdirectory/wp-admin/post-new.php was not found on this server.

    any idea? thanks

    Check your htaccess files.
