# WordPress 3 Navigation Menu

 * When a user saves the navigation menu, it may take over a minute to do so. Sometimes
   the user exits the page, or refreshes or something thinking it’s not working.
   Then we loose the menu.
 * How to make his not happen? This is a show stopper for us and has cost us hours
   of time to recreate the menu each time this happens.
 * I’m looking for all alternatives. A fix for it not to drop menus, a plugin to
   duplicate the page parent heiracrcy into a navigation menu, a plugin that will
   duplicate a menu to a new one for a backup.

 * That’s an abnormally long time. I think you may have a deeper site issue. Have
   you tried:
 * – deactivating **all** plugins to see if this resolves the problem? If this works,
   re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).
 * – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems?

 * I had not tried those, so tonight while the site is slow I did so. The site hasn’t
   even been made ‘live’ yet, so it’s not public traffic.
 * First, we have a menu that has all our menu items, but not ordered like we want
   them at all, we just selected all pages and added them. So, saved that, and it
   takes about 60 seconds.
    Then I disabled all plugins, saved the menu, takes 60
   seconds then I changed the theme to twentyten, saved the menu, takes 60 seconds
 * So obviously it’s none of that so i re-enabled everything back. We have a VPS
   with a 1.93ghz processor and 1.5gb of ram
