# WordPress 2.8

 * WordPress 2.8 just messed everything up, and I am so mad at myself, I did not
   backup my latest 2.7 folder, I have one but not the latest. My dashboard is a
   mess, my posts are in html even though I am on visual, when I got to new post
   there are no editing tools. I can still see my posts on the site, but they look
   nothing what they look like on the dashboard, what is going on?

 * Might need to deactivate all plugins and clear your browser cache and cookies.
 * If necessary, read [How to deactivate all plugins when not able to access the administrative menus?](http://codex.wordpress.org/FAQ_Troubleshooting#How_to_deactivate_all_plugins_when_not_able_to_access_the_administrative_menus.3F)
 * There also maybe the need to follow Steps 7 and 8 of [Upgrading WordPress Extended](http://codex.wordpress.org/Upgrading_WordPress_Extended)
   if deactivating plugins doesn’t work.

 * I have upgaded to wordpress 2.8 and having problems that I hope there is a patch
   for or something.
 * 1. the widget interface looks nice and seems to work but then does not remeber
   the changes made, I mean when I go back the widget is added but the details –
   name etc… are will not save. Even though it says they are saved.
 * 2. Another odd thing The “general” setting are not working. I have set up my

   to show up as home page and the setting does not seem to take…
 * Any answers you can give me or send me in the right direction for help would 
   be great.
 * Oh, I also can not get the plugin “Event Calendar” (Luke Howell) to work proper
   since upgrade.

 * I found a temporary fix.
 * When I did the upgrade I did the “automatic”.
    The files I had on my home pc 
   were still the old version, I just re-loaded them.
 * I am going to hang out here in the boards until I see some fixes for the newer
   version and then try the upgrade again.

 * I had the same problem, and couldn’t access my sites backend. Turns out it was
   caused by my recent installation of Buddypress. I went to my FTP, deleted the
   plugin, and it was fixed.

 * I did the automatic upgrade and deactivated all my plugins but have problems 
   with my dashboard.
 * I am also having posting links when I make a post. Can’t get the link to open
   into a new page as I could with the old version.

 * I’m noticing that the WPG2 plugin breaks many of the save features on the site.
 * you end up with a white page of death .. sometime going back and reloading the
   page works but it ends up totally hanging ….

 * I can’t change the date of any posts, I can’t use the widget settings… several
   other minor issues like certain plugins not working… big mistake updating.
 * I am keeping all other sites at 2.7
