I followed the instructions to the letter, when installing 2.5, including the update page, deactivating plug-ins, etc. Luckily my Dashboard works fine, but after clearing the cache on all my browsers, many times, over the last 3 days, it appears (from the bottom of my dashboard) I’m now running 2.0.4, not 2.5. Really for me, nothing has changed, and I assume there should be SOME changes, and I was really looking forward to running 2.5, but it’s just not happening.

    Any ideas?

    I’m running Mac OS 10.4.11
browsers: Firefox and Camino, Safari keeps crashing, so I can’t check my dashboard on it.
My server is StartLogic, if this matters

Look at the wp-includes/version.php file. It will have the version number.

I suspect that you didn’t upload all the files, because 2.5 is vastly different from anything before it. Make sure you uploaded all the files in the wp-admin and wp-includes directory.

Thanks, Otto42, I checked the wp-includes/version.php, it says I’m running 2.5. I also checked the contents of both the wp-admin and wp-includes directories on my server, against the unzipped WordPress 2.5 sitting on my desktop, including all the subfolders. The files are all there, I also checked the file sizes to make sure there weren’t any files that could’ve only “half-copied” over to the server, the sizes are all the same. Also checked the sizes of those 2 directories, and they are identical in size, down to the byte.

    Any other suggestions?
