  • Anyone know of a good resource for WordPress 101 (basic beginner) information that I can refer my clients to? I’m hoping to find a resource or person that can answer basic questions (i.e. how do I upload an image? what size should my images be?) for my WordPress clients so that I can continue to focus more on technical aspects and maintenance of those sites.

    Any tips appreciated.

Sounds like you need a guide for the theme you’re using. Which theme is that?

I’ve created a guide for them and customized instructions per site based on their theme, plugins, and my customizations in a wiki. They don’t read it. They prefer to send me a question when they are stuck.

At this point, I need someone else to answer these questions since I am rather busy with other tasks.

I would think if they already won’t read your personalized guide, they probably aren’t going to find success reading instructions written by someone else. Especially if it involves themes and plugins that are unique to their particular sites. There is a lot of good beginner information out there, however. Here’s a great jumping off point: Codex > Learn how to use WordPress

And tons of other resources: WordPress for beginners

It sounds like what your client(s) expect is personalized human support. That usually involves money. I don’t know what obligations you’re under in terms of what support you may have agreed upon with your client (and to be fair, I’m making the assumption that they may have purchased your services) but if you’re looking to get some additional one-on-one type support assistance, you might have some luck posting a request on https://jobs.wordpress.net/ or https://jetpack.pro/

    Good luck!

Yes, what I really need is a person to handle these 101 questions, not more links to resources that I have already provided. These are all maintenance clients under contract for me to maintain their sites on the technical side, with an hourly rate for support.

I’m a little hesitant to post the job on a large job board, and would rather find a smaller curated source for people who are have knowledge on using WordPress from the user’s perspective, some support or training experience, and are ready to offer these kinds of services on an outsourcing basis.

Does anyone know of a board or company that offers this? Or a freelancer resource that would be more specific?

    Thanks for your input.
