Support » Plugins and Hacks » WordPress 1.2 One Click Backup

  • A new version of the backup scripts for WordPress 1.2 Mingus is now available. This has been tested with 1.2 Mingus and the instructions have been updated along with some of the code.
Some of the new and original features are:

    • One click backup of the WordPress MySql database which can be then downloaded from your browser without the use of any FTP client.
    • One click backup of all the files inside your WordPress folder which can then be downloaded from your browser.
    • Date coded backup named for sql files and zipped WordPress files.
    • Better checking of user level. This menu is only available to users with level 10 (or admin) and every backup/restore script has user checking built in to prevent un authorized usage of this tool.
    • One click restore of database (if you have a Linux server)
    • More streamlined SQL creation resulting in faster backups and cleaner dumps.

  • Thank You !!

    I second that…
    Thanks LL 🙂

    Thanks a bunch. ^_^

Nice plugin .. gr8 work! Just one request: if somehow the backups can be sent to an e-mail address besides the ability to download them on the fly.

    Fantastic script! Thank you!

Very very nice. Thanks so much!

    awesome script!
    thanks,
    mat

It is a personal policy of mine to go anywhere near mysql as infrequently as possible. This is a lifesaver. Thanks.

    Thanks!

I agree, this is a very awesome script! I have already backed up several times with this, and it works great. Now there is NO reason not to have a recent backup of your files! LL is da man! 🙂

I just wanted to say that this is a great script. I just tried it out on my site. Thank you for creating it.

nice script, just backed up my entire site in no time. Thanks!

Just ran into a problem with the plugin.
Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 8388608 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 22473 bytes) in <path>/wp-admin/backupRestore.php on line 129
Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 8388608 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 0 bytes) in Unknown on line 0

That’s not a plugin error, it’s PHP (server) error. If you don’t have access to php.ini, try adding this line to an .htaccess file:
    php_value memory_limit “16M”

    laughing lizard, what great script.
i actually got it to work on my own blog fine, and use it often.
but now i am installing a blog for a friend, on a different server!, and it wont work.
    i recieve the following error:
PHP Warning: fopen(e:\path\to\blog\/backup/26072004wordpress.sql): failed to open stream: Permission denied in e:\path\to\blog\blog\wp-admin\backupRestore.php on line 220 PHP Warning: fwrite(): supplied argument is not a valid stream resource in e:\path\to\blog\wp-admin\backupRestore.php on line 221
is this enough info, do you think you could help me?
