WordPress.com domain registration question

    Hi,
    I have no experience with WordPress.com so I need to ask about having a domain registered with them. I have a prospective client who has their domain registered at wordpress.com. I would like to know if they are now required to have their website there too or whether they can point their nameservers elsewhere.
