Wordfence stopped detecting the creation of new folders

    Hello, I’m using the free version and I’m doing daily scans because my site has a malware. At some point the scan did not detect some new folders that have been created in the root folder.

    The folders has some random characters as an name and it contains an index file and a cache folder.

    Do you know why this is happened?

    Can you check your scan options to see if ‘Scan files outside your WordPress installation’ is checked?

    When you say “root folder” do you mean the root of the website? Or the root of your hosting account?
    Example : If the website is located in /public_html/yourwebsitename, are the folders being added in /public_html or somewhere under /public_html/yourwebsitename

    I forgot to mention, can you check the box ‘Scan files outside your WordPress installation’, and save the changes, Start a new scan afterwards.
