    Hi,

I have websites using AWS Cloufront. For some reason, I am repeatedly locked out from the website even though I did not do anything wrong. Is this due to the wrong setting in the plugin? Related to AWS Cloudfront IP address?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi @hafism,

I think it may be caused by Wordfence incorrectly obtaining IP addresses.

Can you take a look at Wordfence -> All Options -> How does Wordfence get IPs?

Compare the IP that Wordfence is detecting with what your real IP address is with https://www.google.com/search?q=whats+my+ip

Also can you take a look at Wordfence -> Tools -> Live Traffic, to see who is getting blocked and for what reason?

    Hi Dave,

The IP Wordfence detected is different from my real IP.
Looks like the IP that is blocked is the same with Wordfence detected IP of mine.

From my observation, seems like someone else is having the same IP with mine? (AWS IP). Is it correct?

    How do I solve this?

    Hi again!

Can you try going to Wordfence -> All Options, and changing How does Wordfence get IPs?

For example, try changing it to X-Forwarded: https://i.imgur.com/6QE3fKM.png

Done that. Now 2 IPs in Detected IP. But AWS IP is in bold, and my public IP is not in bold.

    Hi again,

The detected IP is always in bold. Can you take a screenshot of your All Options?

Once you’ve changed the setting, remember to click on Save Changes in the top-right corner.
