    Hi, does does WordFence Security Free firewall affect any other plugins, i.e could it stop them form working properly? Also, does this plugin or any of its features affect GDPR compliance, i.e. records visitors IP, any other user data or set any cookies (first or third party)? Which are recommended settings for the firewall?

    I also would like some recommendations on the 2FA setup. thanks.

    Hey @melparker,

    We are also using Wordfence together with a myriad of other plugins.

    Answers to your questions:

    1. Does WordFence Security free firewall affect any other plugins? No, not that we know of.
    2. Could it stop them form working properly? No, we have never experienced any issues with Wordfence interfering with other plugins. In fact, Wordfence has been helpful in determining whether other plugins are “clean” or not.
    3. Does this plugin or any of its features affect GDPR compliance? No. Wordfence is GDPR compliant. Click here and here for details. Also, please keep in mind that, per GPDR requirements, you (as a developer) are responsible for telling your website customers which cookies are used by your website (via front end banner).
    4. I also would like some recommendations on the 2FA setup. To set up 2FA using Wordfence, please follow these instructions.

    The firewall can potentially block legitimate requests from your theme or any plugins if they are seen by the firewall to be potentially malicious. Please see our guide below to add such blocked requests to the firewall allowlist:

    The recommended setting for the firewall is for it to be optimized and in Extended Protection mode. Our guide for this is below:
