    Gday mate,

I like to develop in an agile way which means that I release bug fixes to trunk as early and as often as I can. This is 2013 not 1999! ๐Ÿ™‚

Plugins like Wordfence that compare you installed version with that of what is in the plugin directory incorrectly tag this as malware.

The fact that these plugins do this in the name of security is an outrageous and antiquated practice. Sorry for the rant.

    Cheers,
    Mikey

    No probs ๐Ÿ™‚

I suspected that it might be something going loopy on the Wordfence end but thought it best to check, in case something nasty had snuck in at my end and addled the plugin on my site ๐Ÿ™‚

    Best wishes,
    CrlyWrly

Actually – your French translator’s site is flagged for malware. It has nothing to do with your code updates.

    Thank you @adschnelle ๐Ÿ™‚

Now – what the heck do I do about that . . . life is too short for this sort of thing ;-(

Oh – that was easy ๐Ÿ™‚ Found the readme.txt file in the plugin and deleted that url.

Thank you again for your time and help @adschelle!

If you’re running Wordfence – then there should be an option to delete the readme.txt file that contains the URL. It won’t affect the functioning of your backup plugin.

Ooops! I edited while you were posting – thank you – useful to know that I can get rid of the whole file ๐Ÿ™‚

    hi
the way wordfence is tell us that, is not so outrageous as that.
but if you have that link that is in fact malicious, that should be corrected.
the problem is not an app that works well but i think that should not be putted at risk on its usage if leads to link to a real problem. but i understand the rant

    Gday Marco,

I am not saying that testing for malware links is a bad idea at all. I am just saying that the Wordfense implementation is not the best way to do it. ๐Ÿ™‚

    Cheers,
    Mikey

    Hey all,

I have to apologise! There was a dodgy URL from one of my translators that Wordfence was detecting however there was no threat to the user.

I was carrying on about another type of alert inside Wordfence that I disagree with. The URL has now been removed and we can all go have a beer! ๐Ÿ™‚

    Cheers,
    Mikey

beer ‘only’ after link remove? that’s outrageous …
