Wordfence flagging W3 Total Cache cache files

  • Once installing Wordfence (which is now my security plug-in of choice) it is flagging all of the cache files generated by W3. I tested this by clearing the cache via W3 and did a rescan and the alert was gone for those files. How can I exclude these files to keep them from being flagged?

I can see this as a potential pain down the road.

    Any suggestions?

    Thank you!! 🙂

  • Hi there Again!

I have other more recent post with this same problem. Has there been any fix or workaround as of yet? Or at least a way to “Select All” so I can delete them quickly by hand.

    Thanks for your help!!

Just for the record, the obvious thing to do in the meantime is clear the w3t cache then run the scan again and that will clear those files out.

I too am having this problem. So annoying!

If you can afford turning off database caching, the files are no longer generated. Of course, you lose the optimization of database caching as well.

I have the same problem. It started occurring about 2-3 weeks ago. I have had both W3 Total Cache and Wordfence installed a lot longer than that, and this was previously not a problem.
