I don’t manage to get the Firewall to work: I have installed a local php.ini file in the wordpress directory, the .htaccess file has also been generated by the Firewall setup process (includes the prepend of the waf file), I also added the SetEnv PHPRC /home/*****/public_html/php.ini in the .htaccess

I host myself the wordpress. The url is http://guruplay.tv

    Help would be much appreciated

    Thanks

    Henrik

Everytime I fo to the WordFence firewall page, it shows To make your site as secure as possible, take a moment to optimize the Wordfence Web Application Firewall:

How can I see if the firewall is activated and running?

    Hello henrikpiski,
on the Firewall page at the top at “Protection level” does it say “Extended Protection” or “Basic Protection”?

    Hi, it says “basic protection”

    Hello again,
okay so that means the Firewall is not properly configured. By looking at the output of php_info you should be able to see whether the php.ini file that you created is loading or not. You might also want to check your servers error logs to see if there is any indication there of what might be happening.

it is loading the php.ini of /etc/apache2/php.ini
I have several wordpress branches for different domains on my server, but the firewall is only active for one domain and not for the others…

Okay so if the php.ini in public_html is not getting loaded you probably need to change some server setting to allow it? Maybe the SetEnv PHPRC directive is not allowed in your setup? Maybe you are not allowing local .htaccess to override? I’m not sure.

What you need to do is to get wordfence-waf.php to load via auto_prepend_file directive.

Did you try the automatic installation process before you decided to create a php.ini?

    I solved it with a local php.ini
