• This morning I got 2 emails from Wordfence about problems on a site that I manage. One contained a list of plugins in need of update, but the weird thing is: these plugins are things I have never heard of that don’t exist on the site. I checked plugins in the Dashboard and even checked wp-content via FTP to make sure nothing funny was going on. Also said my WordPress core is in need of update, but it’s not (the site is running the latest). None of these plugins are anywhere to be found, so why is Wordfence telling me they need to be updated?

The second email said something about you are running the LiteSpeed web server and to make an htaccess fix to allow auto updates by Wordfence. Again, never heard of LiteSpeed, not using it on this site.

Did Wordfence alert emails somehow go wonky and send me issues from somebody else’s site? This is super odd!
