# Wordfence API error

 * Hello,
 * I have newly installed Wordfence on my website and purchased the premium membership.
   When I try to enter the API key , I get the following error.
 * Wordfence could not get an API key from the Wordfence scanning servers when it
   activated
 * Connectivity test gives the following output :
 * Wordfence connectivity tester
 * DNS lookup for noc1.wordfence.com returns: noc1.wordfence.com
 * STARTING CURL http CONNECTION TEST….
    Curl connectivity test passed.
 * STARTING CURL https CONNECTION TEST….
    Curl connectivity test passed.
 * Starting wp_remote_post() test
    wp_remote_post() test to noc1.wordfence.com passed!
 * Starting wp_remote_post() test
    wp_remote_post() test to noc1.wordfence.com failed!
   Response was: Problem with the SSL CA cert (path? access rights?)
 * Can you please advise how I can solve this problem ?

 * Hi, I have the problem:
 * Wordfence could not get an API key from the Wordfence scanning servers when it

   Response was: error setting certificate verify locations: CAfile: /home/acemi/
   public_html/wp-includes/certificates/ca-bundle.crt CApath: none

   issue, but if it is happening consistently, go to the Wordfence Options page,
   and uncheck “Enable SSL Verification” near the bottom of the page (just before
   the connectivity test).
