WordFence alert: Changed plugin files

Hi…

Saw someone post elsewhere about this same error about 5 months ago, but saw no response.

WordFence sent me an alert today that says all of the plugin’s files had been changed. I did a WordFence dif of the versions, and it was clearly an update.

Is this caused when the devloper forgets to change version numbers in the plugin file(s), or maybe in the WordPress repository?

Would be nice if we didn’t have to get these alerts.
