Word press removing links from my posts

  • I’ve been using wordpress for a long time and I’ve never had this happen before, but my latest wordpress install is removing links that i’ve put in a post. I’m baffled.

    here’s the post:
    http://bobalong.co.uk/category/upcoming-events/

and here’s the actual text I wrote in that post:
    Combined jam and open-mic

<a href="http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?q=lower+woodside,+lymington,+so41+8ah&spn=0.658000,1.398560&iwloc=A&hl=en">Click here for a map to the Chequers inn</a>

    <a href="http://www.chequersinn.com">The Chequers Inn Website</a><br />

As you can see it’s stripped out the href’s.

I’ve turned off all the plugins and i’ve reposted this, but it’s still removing the links.

    Anyone have any ideas?

    Thanks,

    Karl

  • Have you got any open strings (“”) or incomplete elements before these links? They seem fine to me and I checked this very carefully. If you make an error in the markup, it tends to cascade onto text and elements that follow, i.e. it ‘eats them up’.
