# word press installed

 * I am new to word press and was hoping to put this onto my site, can anyone tell
   me how to go about this? I was told that there might be a problem with MYSQL 
   as I use an oscommerce data base, i dont know what this means so can anybody 
   give me some advice on what to do and how to do it? cheers

 * From the sounds of it the first step is to find out if your web hosting is compatible
   with WordPress.
    Go to [http://codex.wordpress.org/Getting_Started_with_WordPress](http://codex.wordpress.org/Getting_Started_with_WordPress)
   and read the first section (Before You Install – [http://codex.wordpress.org/Before_You_Install](http://codex.wordpress.org/Before_You_Install))
   and check with your hosting company to see if their system meets the necessary
   specifications. If it does then you can proceed to the next sections (installation).
