I published a post on my company’s website this morning, and the client it was posted for let me know that there was a word missing in the article. I went into the editor and saw that the word was there, but I clicked “Update” again to make sure it was there. The word was still not visible, so I started testing other changes (deleting other words, changing tags, etc.) and none of them have been reflected. I even deleted the post and uploaded the article again, and the original version still shows on our website.

The page I linked to is the article in question. The word in question – the interview subject’s company, Lumen – should appear as part of his title in the first sentence of the second paragraph. It is visible in the post editor and when viewing the page while logged in, but not to anyone else. This is true across multiple browsers.

“But according to Scott Barnett, Vice President, and General Manager, Department of Defense at , what most people think of when they hear modernization and transformation – like next-generation fighter jets and virtual reality training equipment – are just the tip of a much larger and more complex modernization effort.”

Our site is currently on WordPress 6.1.1. I am happy to provide any additional information that would be helpful. Thanks in advance for the advice!

  • Are you using a page builder? If not what block are you using to create the code? I right clicked on the page and opt to view the page source. I didn’t see the statements there that you referred to in your description. It could be a filter or plugin causing the problem.

If you are using Gutenberg blocks are created with React blocks. The blocks are changed to html and stored in the post table of your database. The html is then displayed on the front page. You can view what is going to be stored in the database by changing from visual mode to text mode. The menu with the 3 dots stacked above each other will allow you to do this.

You might find something that looks strange when it stored. The comments above the items is the attributes for the blocks. But, both the front and back pull from the same database table. So I don’t know why the back end would have the text and the front end wouldn’t have it.

I’m actually not sure what our digital team (unavailable yesterday) did to it, but they were able to fix the issue this morning! I appreciate your quick response.
