Support » Themes and Templates » Woothemes homepage specific background

  • Good evening, I’m trying to change the background for my homepage ONLY, but havent been able to succeed.

    The theme is Shelflife, with the Woothemes framework.
    I can’t post a link of the site as I’m designing off line,
    but perhaps just look at the demo on woothemes http://www.woothemes.com/2012/01/shelflife/ (I haven’t chnged much of the style.css file.)

    I’m from South Africa, their website has been down for quite some time now.

    Ive tried adding the following code to my style.css:

    body.woothemes {
    background-color:#fff;
    background-position:center top;
    }
    body.home.woothemes {
    background-image:url(styles/gray/bg.png);
    background-repeat:repeat-x;
    }
    body.woothemes {
    background-image:url(styles/gray/bg2.png);
    background-repeat:none;
    }

    Any help would be much appreciated. Please.

    By the way, does anyone perhaps know where the framework saves its changes? Maybe if I can get that file I’ll be able to fix this.

  • I am trying to investigate as well. And I’m glad woo themes are not “un-hacked” anymore.

    Thanx @ziv, please keep me updated.

    Any luck anyone? Please

    Are you trying to change that top part or the white one?

    I think this would work, but I am not 100% sure.

    Go to your homepage template, and look for: <div id=”wrapper”>

    Replace it with <div id=”wrapper1″>

    Now go to your style.css and find

    #wrapper {
        background-color: #000;
      border-top: 1px solid #c4c4c4;
      border-bottom: 1px solid #fff;
      box-shadow: inset 0 -4px 7px 0 rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.05);
      -webkit-box-shadow: inset 0 -4px 7px 0 rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.05);
      -moz-box-shadow: inset 0 -4px 7px 0 rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.05);
      -o-box-shadow: inset 0 -4px 7px 0 rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.05);
    }

    Then under it add this:

    #wrapper1 {
        background-color: #YOURCOLOR;
      border-top: 1px solid #c4c4c4;
      border-bottom: 1px solid #fff;
      box-shadow: inset 0 -4px 7px 0 rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.05);
      -webkit-box-shadow: inset 0 -4px 7px 0 rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.05);
      -moz-box-shadow: inset 0 -4px 7px 0 rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.05);
      -o-box-shadow: inset 0 -4px 7px 0 rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.05);
    }

    Replace your color with a color of your choice. I haven’t been able to try this out, since I don’t have the theme downloaded, but I guess it should work.

    Thanx a lot for trying mate. Doesn’t seem like it’s going to work. I’m getting to the point where I might just leave it.

    Support is difficult to find, I need this done in a week and it doesn’t help much with WooThemes recovering from a major database intrusion.

    I’m going to add my style.css file, I hope it’s not against any rules. My logic tells me that you can’t do much with just a style.css file, but then again, I’m an architect, not a web designer. This is a hobby to me :).

    By the way, for anyone perhaps willing to give it a shot, I’m trying to change the background of the home page ONLY via color or image src. Not the header.

    I’ve set up a test site for anyone who would like to try it out and edit the file in-situ.

    Username: johannwiese
    Password: [ REDACTED ]

    Test site URL: http://test.woothemes.com/johannwiese/wp-admin/

    🙂

    I wouldn’t think it would be an issue, since you can view it using any browser. I think the really important parts of the theme are the php codes that make it so dynamic, which you can’t view their source from your browser.

    Also have you tried my “fix”? Did it work? I think it would be a lot easier to just change that white color completely, but that isn’t what you need.

    Is that test-site option still valid?

    @johannwiese? Please do not do that with user IDs and passwords. We do not want the support forum to become a place for harvesting that, even on test sites.

    If you’ve purchased that theme (I’m not familiar with Woothemes aside from being a commercial theme provider) then just exercise your option to get support from them. That was part of what you paid for already.

    I apologize @jan, I argued that there isn’t anything to steal from the site as the “editor” function is disabled.

    As I said, their database has been intruded, their content deleted, I haven’t been able to get support from them- and I’m pushed for time, so I referred to wordpress.org.

    Sorry for the disrespect of rules.

    @ziv, thank you for your help, I guess I’ll have to wait for woo.

    Good luck, hope you get it fixed 😀

    @johannwiese: No no, it’s all good. No harm, no foul! 🙂

    I just wanted to explain why I edited that post.
