The purple buy with WooPay button takes like 13 seconds to open the payment page. I have no idea how to fix this other than disabling the WooPay button. The button works, but on the express checkouts setting page, I have this message with a yellow circle and an exclamation point. ‘One or more of your extensions alters checkout fields. This might cause issues with this payment method.’ The yellow exclamation point allows appears next to the option for the WooPay button or the Stripe option. Right now WooPay button and Apple and Google Pay buttons are enabled under express checkout options.

Also, occasionally, I get a message from the PayPal button – there is a problem with this payment option, please try another method.’ This normally goes away after I clear the cache, but I cannot be checking the cache every hour to see if this problem is coming up. Any ideas on why this situation with the paypal button is happening would also be helpful.

  • Hey there, @bobbyferran! Thanks for contacting us. I’m happy to help you.

Does the issue of the button taking too long to show happens only on the checkout page or on every page it is in (if it is showing on other pages)?

Can you share screenshots from the error message you get? I recommend using https://snipboard.io. You can share the direct link to the image as a response to this topic.

The error message mentions issues with the checkout page. How are you modifying it, with custom code or plugin?

Have you tried removing the checkout page customization and testing if the issue with the WooPay button persists?

Furthermore, I’d like to understand your site properly. Please share with us the necessary information below for us to investigate the issue further:

System Status Report which you can find via WooCommerce > Status > Get system report > Copy for support.
Fatal error logs (if any) under WooCommerce > Status > Logs. Then you can use the selector to search for Fatal Errors.
You could copy and paste your reply here or paste it via https://gist.github.com/ and send the link here.

    Looking forward to your reply.

    Have a wonderful day!

Hello, Thank you for your message. This is the image I am receiving, sometimes, when I click on the Paypal or Venmo button.

In regards to the check out page, I am not modifying it with a code or plugin. All the payment plugins are Woocommerce or Yith so they should work together.

The issue with the WooPay button working slowly is on every page that it appears.

I will follow up with any error reports.

    Thank you.

    Hey, @bobbyferran!

Thank you for the screenshot and the information.

When you can please share any fatal errors and the System Report so we can take a look.

If you can also share a screenshot of where you see the error ‘One or more of your extensions alters checkout fields. This might cause issues with this payment method.’ that would be great also.

Also, I was not able to find the WooPayments button anywhere. Have you removed it?

    Looking forward to your reply.

    Have a wonderful day!

Hello again, Thank you for your reply. Here are copies of the system report and fatal errors:

I have not removed the WooPay button and can see it here on all the product and check out pages.

This is the image of the error message. Stripe is not enabled because WooPay and Stripe cannot be enabled at the same time.

    Hey, @bobbyferran!

Thank you for the screenshot and information.

I have not removed the WooPay button and can see it here on all the product and check out pages.

That’s odd, I still don’t see it. Do you mind sharing a screenshot of the product page so we can take a look?

The error logs you shared show a critical error with Yith plugins, so I suggest you deactivate them and see if the issue persists.

If it does, please run a full conflict test to see.

To test, you’ll first want to change the theme on your site to Storefront, then check to see if the issue is still present. If that resolves the issue, you’ll want to get in touch with your theme’s developer and see if they have an update or fix for you.

If changing the theme doesn’t help, you’ll want to deactivate all plugins except for WooCommerce, WooPayments and PayPal and take a look. If that fixes the problem, re-enable the other plugins one by one (gradually), checking after each, to see where the issue is coming from.

You can also try to have only Woo and WooPayments and then only Woo and PayPal, to test them separately too.

    — Be sure you have a good backup in place of your full site and database. You can ask your host for backup functionality or you can consider using a service like Jetpack. If something goes wrong, you will be able to restore it.

    — Also, you can consider using a plugin like Health Check & Troubleshooting. This is a plugin developed by the WordPress community and it is helpful to disable plugins without affecting your current site visitors.

    — It is important to consider as well a staging functionality in case you would not like to touch your production site (you can ask your host if they offer this service), or you can use WP Staging for quickly spinning up a new test site.

You can find more about this in this guide.

Please let us know about your findings.

    Have a wonderful day!

Hello, just to follow up on the WooPay button working slowly. It should be visible on every product and payment page. Here is the screenshot: https://snipboard.io/TpkdHA.jpg It normally takes between 12 and 15 seconds to load the WooCommerce payment page using this button.

    Hi @bobbyferran,

Following up here as promised on your other thread. I’m reviewing this one with the information we got, it seems a lot of caching plugins were causing issues with your site. To confirm, you’ve left only one now, correct?

I want to get a clean look of things now, first, can you make sure to update your WordPress, WooCommerce, Payment gateway plugin, any WooCommerce related plugins, your cache plugin and your theme, then please let us know if the issue persists.

If it does, kindly share an updated system status report, and any error logs you can find under WooCommerce > Status > Logs, please. We can take it from there.

    Thanks!
