• Hi guys :

I get a strange problem trying to translate woocommerce.
I’ve downloaded last version of this plugin.

Once I click on “sync” It works and get new strings but when I try to save my translated queries, it returns “unknown error” and do not save it … ever.

I’ve tried this several times, de-activated all plugins but loco, changed themes but there’s nothing to do.

I’ve also noticed there are pieces of pages not translated like my-account and emails sent to clients.

Any idea would be more than welcome to resolve this .. thanks a lot

I can’t diagnose an unknown error. Please try to provide some debugging information: https://localise.biz/wordpress/plugin/faqs/debug-info

Thanks a lot for replying !!

I’ve just looked at errors on the chrome console and discovered this report :

    413 Request Entity Too Large
    Request Entity Too Large
    The requested resource/wp-admin/admin-ajax.php
does not allow request data with POST requests, or the amount of data provided in
the request exceeds the capacity limit.

It seems to be related to this problem. I’ve tried with other plugins and there’s no error .. maybe woocommerce queries are too heavy ?

    thanks

I’ve just finished to chat with my hosting support and they discovered an error on logs which seems to be related to this :

[27-Sep-2017 14:44:30 UTC] [Loco.debug] “Translations don’t match template. Run sync to update from woocommerce.pot” in src/admin/file/EditController.php:103

    thanks

That debug line is not related to your actual problem.

The problem is as you posted before, that your request exceeds the capacity limit. This is not something my plugin has any control over. You’ll have to work it out with your hosting provider.

WooCommerce PO files should only be about 800K, which is well below any sensible post limit.

    thanks tim.
so, you recommend to contact my hosting again and ask for increasing size of post limit ??
    thaks

by the way I discovered another message under loco > plugins > woocommerce > file info (tab)

    Missing template

These translations are not linked to a POT file. Sync operations will extract strings directly from source code.

    is this related ?
    thanks

No, that message is not related.

Yes, I recommend you ask your hosting provider to fix your limit problem. The limit may be imposed by the web server, by your PHP config, or by some other bit of software that I don’t know about. One component that definitely isn’t blocking the request is this plugin.

ok thanks a lot for your time !!!

sorry to bother you again tim.
I’ve just finished to chat with my hosting support and this is what they asked :

I’m afraid I do not know what your developer is referring to by that. What I can suggest is you contact them for this issue, so he can specify a php variable he might need increased here in the host.

    any idea ?
    thanks

I can only repeat what I’ve said. The issue is in another part of your architecture and not related to this plugin.

If you mention the developer of something that isn’t working then of course they will look to deflect the problem back here. If your server cannot accept a ~800K post request (which is perfectly reasonable) then the problem is for them to solve.

If they can’t/won’t help you I suggest you ask for advice on a general WordPress forum like this one.

I’m going to come back to them ..
