Woocommerce Theme ‘travel stories’ does not integrate with woomcommerce

I am running WP off local host and encountered this error when i installed Woo for my travel_stories theme. i added all the pages, and then even followed the guide: https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/third-party-custom-theme-compatibility/

The message disappeared from the top of the WP page (woocommerce not compatible etc.) but then i got this message when i went to visit the site:
localhost is currently unable to handle this request. HTTP ERROR 500

This is the code i have in my page.php that i duplicated to a woocommerce.php file:
