Woocommerce shortcodes forced to 1 column elementor

I’m using Storefront and am trying to use the Woocommerce [product_categories columns=”3″] shortcode in Elementor. It refuses to use anything except one column. Elementor support said it was a Theme thing. It works fine in Gutenburg shortcode block. Any ideas please?

Hello,
Sorry to hear about that.

To get a better idea about this, can you please share a copy of your site’s System Status? You can find it navigating through WooCommerce > Status. Select “Get system report” and then “Copy for support”.

Hi there @charlesrodmell

I see that your site is missing the following stylesheet from WooCommerce core:

plugins/woocommerce/assets/css/woocommerce-layout.css

It is possible that another plugin or a custom code snippet has dequeued this style sheet.

The CSS above is needed for the column layout to work.

I tried testing the shortcode with Elementor on Storefront – I couldn’t replicate this issue. The format shows up well.

You could try disabling all other plugins except WooCommerce and Elementor and retest it.

Hi. This is so weird. I disabled all plugins except woo and Elementor and hard refreshed the page while logged in. Same issue – only one column. I tried switching to another theme (2022) and columns worked fine. Is there any point in me trying to reinstall the Storefront theme? Will I lose my customizer settings if I delete it and reinstall?

Sometimes when the theme has issues such as corrupted or missing files, reinstalling it might resolve the issue.

If you didn’t edit any core theme files or add any custom files in the theme folder, it is safe to reinstall the theme without losing the theme settings and content.

It is recommended to backup your site and database data before re-installing the theme.
