Shop is set up and has been for some time but for some reason we are taken to the WooCommerce setup page every time we click the WooCommerce link, for some users more than others. Finishing the setup again makes no difference it just keeps comming back.

Inbox is not showing up but returns an error, don’t know if it is related

I have tried deactivating plugins that might conflict but without luck, I hope you can help 🙏🙂

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hello rittermann,

Thank you for contacting WooCommerce support.

I understand you’re being redirected to the WooCommerce setup page repeatedly, and the inbox is returning an error.

Could you share screenshots of the WooCommerce setup page you see?

Also, share a screenshot of your Site Visibility settings.
This might help identify any related configuration issues.

To assist further, I need more details about your setup.
Please send a copy of your site’s System Status Report by navigating to WooCommerce > Status, selecting “Get system report,” and then “Copy for support.”

Looking forward to your response. 🙂

About a week ago Site Visibility was set to the following, I changed it and products were showing again, but today when you ask me to send me a screendump it is set to offline again. But noone with access to the shop have changed this setting. I have now changed it to Live again.

    This is the current status:

And now for the screendump of the reoccuring guide:

And you did not ask for the mailbox, and I don’t know if it is any help, but it looks like this:

I am having the same issues. Keeping tabs on this thread for answers.. 🤞

    Hi @rittermann ,

Thanks for sending the screenshots! When I visited your site, I do see that your site is up and running, and the shop items are showing as seen here: https://snipboard.io/zyvX6i.jpg. Based on your screenshots, I understand that this is happening in the wp-admin area.

As a quick first step, could you try clearing your browser cache or using a different browser you haven’t used to visit your site before?

Just a hunch, an outdated browser cache could be behind the setup page reappearing or even your mailbox having concerns. By the way, is this mailbox also accessed via your WordPress dashboard through a plugin?

Note that clearing the cache will force your browser to load the most recent version of your WooCommerce pages. So if it’s already setup before, this will clear any cached data that might have been stuck, causing the re-appearing setup wizard. After clearing the cache, close the browser, reopen it, and try accessing WooCommerce again.

Please keep us posted on your progress.

I have tested issue on multiple machines, multiple browsers(Chrome, Edge, Firefox), with and without cleared chache and incognito mode.

The issue is rarely showing up on the admin user who installed and configurated the system. But appears every time any other user is logged in and choose WooCommerce menu link.

    Hi @rittermann ,

I’m sorry to hear you’re dealing with these issues—the setup wizard popping back up and those admin inbox errors can be frustrating. Let’s figure this out together.

Sometimes, the setup wizard keeps showing up because it wasn’t fully completed or user-specific settings trigger it for different admin accounts. Can you double-check that every step in the wizard is done?

The unexpected change in your site’s visibility settings sounds like it might be from plugin conflicts or even unauthorized changes. To be sure, you can check activity logs to see if anyone altered those settings. A tool like WP Security Audit Log can help track what’s happening on your site.

For the admin inbox error, “There was an error getting to your inbox. Please try again,” this might point to plugin conflicts or something not quite right with WooCommerce. Have you already tried deactivating all plugins except WooCommerce and switching to the default Storefront theme? If not, it’s a good way to check for conflicts.

You should also review any fatal error logs under WooCommerce > Status > Logs to see if anything jumps out.

When you’ve gathered all the details, paste them into a Code block here or use pastebin.com and share the link with us. This will give us the info we need to dig deeper.

Let me know how it goes!

1 – We have completed the setup multiple times i the hope that the issue was something missing, but it does not make a difference – when it is completed it just starts over again. I have made screendumps of the process with timestamps – you can see them here: https://filetransfer.io/data-package/zYEWZneH#link

2 – We use the WordFence plugin at this time, I have scanned the site a couple of times without any remarks, if there were unautherised changes shoud I not be notified by the scan?

3 – I have tried deactivating all plugins except WooCommerce and switching to the storefront theme. When all were deactivated I did not se the config screen, but only tested it once. Then I tried activating plugins one by one while testing the WooCommerce control panel. With WordFence, WPForms and Litespeed cache deactivated the Setup screen is less frequent, but it still appears. I can not find a pattern for which plugin might cause the problem – if it is a conflicting plugin issue.

But Complianz, Blocksy Companion and Stackable -Gutenberg Blocks plugins “destroys” the Woocommerce Inbox – even though I use them together on other sites with no problems.

The logs do not give me anything useful to go with – but I am not sure what to look for?

I am not sure what details you want me to share in pastebin?

    Hello rittermann,

    Thank you for your reply.

When all plugins except WooCommerce are disabled, you mentioned not seeing the setup screen.
Could you clarify what you see when clicking on the WooCommerce tab?
A screenshot of this behavior would be helpful.

To manually trigger the wizard, you can follow these instructions:
    WooCommerce Setup Wizard.

Please also share your site’s System Status Report.
You can find it under WooCommerce > Status. Click “Get system report” and then “Copy for support” to share it here.

Once I have more information, I will be in a better position to assist you further.

    Best regards.

    Hi,

Once again i deactivated all plugins and sent a systems report. This is what the WooCommerce dashboard looks like when all is deactivated – normal.

I went through the setup wizard again manually – no improvement after that

When i strip the plugins down to similar setups I have running well in other places it still triggers the setup screen. I have tried to find one plugin that triggers the problem but I cannot find anything consistant – when I think i got it – it happens again.

I hope you can give me a clue of what to do?

    Hello rittermann,

    Thank you for your reply.

When i strip the plugins down to similar setups I have running well in other places it still triggers the setup screen.

To confirm, do you mean this issue is not occurring on the other sites with similar setups?
If yes, are those clones of this site or they are different websites?

Net, please navigate to WooCommerce > Status > Tools and click the “Update database” button.
This will make sure the database is up to date.

To help you further, please send me a copy of your site’s System Status Report.
You can find it via WooCommerce > Status.
Select Get system report and then Copy for support.

Looking forward to your response. 🙂

The issue is not occuring in different websites I have set up with same plugins. I have not made any clones of this site yet.

    Database is updated.

System Status Report is sent again 1. dec.

    Hello rittermann,

    Thank you for your reply.

I understand this issue is not occurring on the other websites that are similar to this site.

To help you further, it would be helpful if I could review the System Status Reports of two sites, one that is working fine and the other that has issues.

System Status Report is sent again 1. dec.

Do you mean you have shared the report in the last message?
Maybe it did not go through.

Could you try again by uploading it to https://pastebin.com and then share the URL with me?
Please share two reports as requested.

Looking forward to your response. 🙂

I have not deactivated plugins before creating report, but it does not change the result anyway.

Here you will find the reports within 24 hours:

    Hello rittermann,

    Thank you for your reply.

I checked this link https://pastebin.com/KgmSMk4z but it appears to be expired.
Could you share it again and increase the time limit?
Please share reports of both websites as requested in the last message.

Looking forward to your response. 🙂
