Woocommerce Search isn't too great?

  • I want certain products to be searchable by tags I add to the product… for example if i make a product called “GLOVE”, and the description doesn’t have the word “BASEBALL” but when the user types in baseball in the search box, I want the “GLOVE” product to show up. I even put “BASEBALL” as a tag under the product, and it still is not searchable with “BASEBALL”. Why?

The product is even under the category called “BASEBALL” and the search doesn’t care about category name…

Is there a method to do this? Or is there a method / code to allow the search button to also search the category name and not just description.

I believe this is more to do with WordPress’ search function than WooCommerce itself.

WordPress has always been lacking in the search department. However, if you do a search on Google, you will find solutions to adding TAGS within the search criteria.

i use search everything and customise the options for this.

    or relevanssi is another alternative.

relevanssi is loads better than search everything. it takes a bit of configuring to get the results you’re looking for, but it’s definitely worth looking at.
