    HI John,

    Thanks for the email! We wouldn’t expect a product variable string like: https://mydomain.com/sampleProduct/?attribute_pa_color=red to have duplicate content.

    We say this as the canonical for that URL should automatically be: https://mydomain.com/sampleProduct. Google should then hit that variable string, see it has a different canonical, follow the canonical and crawl/index it.

    We would like some more information.

    1. If you were to visit that product variable string and check the source code and look for canonical does it show the right one? This guide explains more about how to check the source code: https://kb.yoast.com/kb/view-page-source-site/.

    2.Can you take screenshots of this duplicate content warning you are getting? You can use a tool like: https://pasteboard.co/ to share the image.
