    Hi,

Did you repair your website already? I can see all the images.

That said, when you have such a problem, you should restore your backup (as mentioned in the tutorial, everywhere in the plugin and in its description, backups are mandatory). The alternative is to use the Restore function built in the plugin. That’s the only way to repair missing files, of course.

Then we should try to understand why it didn’t work. What options did you use exactly?

Hi, I just restored yesterdays version of the database after posting this, and the images reappeared; but now when I edit any product it reverts the entire site to the broken version. I’ve had to restore the database 3 times now after attempting to edit products.

The unfortunate issue with restoring is that I lost two 10 hour days of work.

If you restore a backup, then your website should be exactly the same as before. Side-effects such as the ones you might have experienced are probably due to caching; your website wasn’t broken, but the previous broken version was loaded from your local cache or proxy cache.

Just happened again. Edited one product, then clicked on Products to see all products, and nearly all of them are missing the product image again, for the 4th time. All Cloudlfare caches are cleared and we do not use caching plugins.

Well, this has nothing to do with Media Cleaner. It removes files, but if you restore them, then there is no difference at all; and it wouldn’t break an install on further actions, that’s technically impossible.

You should really have a developer close to you looking into this.

Restore. Don’t do anything, for at least a few hours. Check that your website works. From a different machine, do not use the same one.

Also: there is a difference with caching when you are logged in and not. Test the website while being logged in and not logged in.

Make sure you don’t have a plugin that breaks your install when you perform an action on your product. Are you using a Renamer? Plugins for WC?

Now after the 5th restore, it logged me out permanently, and it looks like the whole site is broken, won’t let me log in anymore. The site worked flawlessly for the last 11 months and we edit and add 20+ new products per day. The only plugin changes we made yesterday was running this one.

The number of restores does not matter, the first one and the 5th one should have no differences. If your backup actually has a problem, then, of course, anything can happen.

Contact your hosting service and ask them to really restore the website to that point.

The fact you can’t log in has also totally nothing to do with my plugin. I think at this point you should really look for a more various range of explanations otherwise you will never find the issue.

Also, when anything weird like this happens, have a look at your PHP Error Logs. But to be honest, I think you should work with a developer to make sure everything goes smoothly.
