    Hi there!

Love the plugin for its simplicity – unfortunately it does not support WooCommerce as per the product categories / custom post type (“products”).

I’ve already read the other support thread which poses a similar question but I am hoping that support for WooCommerce could be much more easily done…

    Any thoughts on this?
    Thanks & regards,

  • Second request for the need for WooCommerce compatibility please! Really need to find a way to determine which category a product included in several categories actually appears in, in terms of the URL and breadcrumbs.

    Thanks, James

    Hi James,

since I did not get any feedback / support from the original plugin developers, I hired someone to make the modification happen for WooCommerce. I am running the development version for my shop and it is working as intended.

We were planning to release the WooCommerce-version to the public but things have been very busy the last weeks. I’ll get back to you with more details once we got things underway.

In the meantime: If you want to try the dev-version, feel free to provide your email / some other means of communication and I’ll send it over to you.

Hi Henning. Thanks, I would love to try out your development version please! That would be great, real shame the plugin author hasn’t been able to take this forward.

Now, how to get in touch with you? Probably best not to post an email address here, but I don’t see any way to message other members. Any thoughts? You can drop me a message via the contacts page on my website perhaps?

    Many thanks, James

Actually I have been following the discussion but since I am not a WooCommerce user it is very hard for me to add a feature to support it. I believe WooCommerce is using custom taxonomies and this requires a lot of hacking into WP to make it work within the plugin.

If you find a clean way to do it, please upload the code somewhere (or here) and I will definitely apply the changes to the plugin. Meanwhile, if it is a change to specifically support ONLY WooCommerce I will not do it since it might includes bugs/issues with other plugins or future version of WP, I am trying to keep the plugin very clean.

Good to hear that you are following this topic. I would have loved to receive a short feedback when I initially posted this message – iIf you had simply stated what you have now then things might have taken a different turn.

Anyways – our enhancements seem to both support the regular WP-posts & -pages as well as WooCommerce products. I’ll be in touch with the developer I hired to rework the plugin and depending on what he agrees upon we can either merge the two plugins or reference this plugin.

I have provided you with the development version. Please report any errors you might stumble upon. Since we haven’t released it yet this is merely a BETA-test so to speak.

Thanks Henning. I’ve got your development version and so will give it a try, then report back. I can’t believe that there aren’t already plugins out there to do such a basic (in terms of functionality, although it seems the code may be more complicated!) and important function. Or more importantly, why this is not a standard WC feature!

Fingers crossed that your beta version works for me too!

    Very many thanks 🙂 James

    Any updates?

    Sadly, nothing yet 🙁

Unfortunately, the original programmer who made the modifications did not respond to my inquiry regarding the release of his plugin. I am not sure about the legal implications and therefore am utmost careful about handing out code that doesn’t really belong to me.

Maybe you care to contact him via and reference me (Henning, via PPH).

Sorry, that’s all I can do.

I am not interested in the issue enough since I am not using WooCommerce but I am willing to integrate the changes if they are clean and well done. If anybody is willing to make this issue goes forward, please contact the developer and we will see.
